Dear Members,
Greetings…! Trust this notes find you well.
I’m Kazi 53 years old, new to this group today. My prostrate cancer diagnosed TNM stage T3bN1M1a that is spread to lymph nodes and not in bone or organs.
My chemotherapy 6th round going to complete this month. During chemo cycle i still continue my badminton and gym as it’s my passion.
I’m curious how effective the treatment would be. Can you help me to share your experience if any of you similar to my situation? Much appreciated.
Hello Kazi (Kazi K)
A very warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Cancer Community - although I am so sorry to find you here. I am Brian, one of the Community Champions here at Macmillan.
The Community is divided into cancer specific groups or chat rooms and I have noticed you have joined the Prostate Group which is great. I myself have Prostate Cancer and "hang out" in that part of the Community.
I would encourage you to introduce yourself to our group in the "New Here - Say Hello" section (you can copy and paste the above post). You will get plenty of replies as we are a very friendly bunch.
I look forward to "meeting" you again on the Prostate Group.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi kazi I had chemotherapy after being diagnosed with prostate cancer. I also had cancer that had spread to lymph nodes around my pelvic area. Mine is Gleason 4+3 and 3+4. The chemotherapy did not get get rid of the large areas of cancer. From what I understand it will kill the smaller cancer cells. All my cancer was reduced in size after 6 treatments. I then was treated with radiotherapy 37 treatments. This appears to have cleared all the cancer in the the lymph nodes. I still have cancer in the prostate but my last blood test psa was 0.07
hope this helps and good luck
Hello Jdcambridge,
Greetings…!
Thanks for precious sharing. Appreciate it.
Yes, my findings similar to you. I’m going through triple combination of therapy. Hormone injections, tablet and chemo.
My pathway to control it for long term. My PSA now below 0.4. Having Vitamin D too.
This week my chemo 6th cycle will be completed. I have scheduled phone conversation with doctor today. I will meet doctor physically in 3 weeks. Doctor advised I might need to do radiotherapy and bone strengthening treatment, before that I need to check with dentist. He also said I could take break for hormone if PSA level low.
By the way, how long it took time to do 37 radiotherapy, was it one session? Do have ever experienced from other members of this group that in this stage of treatment people can really get remission and live long regular life, I’m curious?
Refards
Kazi
Regards
