Hi there I have just been diagnosed with prostate cancer last Wednesday to be exact so I'm a newbie to the whole cancer thing today I was feeling a bit numb about it all and a thought I had was that I didn't want to get the treatment for it ,so I was just wondering if anyone else had had the same feeling about it ?
Hi Lfc
I think we all feel the same when first diagnosed with prostate cancer but depending on how advanced your cancer is the currently available treatments can have high levels of success in achieving a cure. if you are at an early stage of disease then treatment may not be needed for now and your condition can be managed with active surveillance, giving you plenty of time to consider how you might want to go forward with treatment if it becomes necessary. If you join the Prostate Cancer Forum on here you will find lots of friendly support and can learn from the experiences of others.
Good luck
Dave
