Hi all just wondering what support is actually out there
I lost my husband to hep c and cancer of the liver back in march 2022
it has been very hard as you can imagine we have two new teenage boys with additional needs they both have done very very well with coping with loss of there dad we all so lost there great-grandmother in 2022 and my mum in 2023 both boys have done fantastic in coping very well but I feel we could do with support going forward
Hi Carlamichaela and so am sorry to hear about your husband….. my sincere condolences.
I have not been in this position but you may want to join and post in our dedicated…..
Bereaved Spouses and Partners Group
……. support group where you can connect with others navigating the same journey.
Many hospitals have bereavement services who may be able to offer support.
You could call the Macmillan Support Line open between 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00…… this service provide practical information on accessing support, emotional support or just a listening ear.
Talking to people ‘face to face’ can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.
((Hugs))
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
