Hello. I am Conja and am new to the Group.  Four weeks ago I was diagnosed with a secondary Melanoma tumour on my right lung having had a primary Melanoma tumour on my face removed together with neck lymph nodes last year.  This has been a great shock.  It was found through a PET Scan.  I have had a video Consultation with the Consultant at Brompton Hospital and now waiting for a date for the operation to remove the tumour and lymph nodes.  I am finding the waiting unbearable.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and I was diagnosed with melanoma 8 years ago so I know how hard waiting for treatment, tests and results can be.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the melanoma group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Horrid getting that information i know to well. My initial neck tumour removed in 2016 came back as a rare aggressive stage 4 in March 23. Staying positive is a massive target to hit as soon as you can. Lots of great new treatment now which saved me to date so lots to be positive about. The waiting game is the horrible part..I have scans every 3 months and next this month, always know it's going to be tough but I just say to myself if the worse happens then it's a new challenge for me to take in a positive way!
