Newly Diagnosed T1b Melanoma

Hi all,

I was diagnosed today with a T1b melanoma from a mole removed from the back of my right arm, breslow depth 0.8mm. I'll definitely be having a WLE but SLNB is TBC as I have a swollen lymph node in my neck on the right, so will be having that biopsied in the next couple of weeks before confirming the next steps.

My consultant spotted another mole on my leg that she doesn't think is a melanoma, but is still being removed to be on the safe side. That's already booked in for next Wednesday.

I'm thankful it was only a T1b but still a bit anxious about my swollen lymph node. I really struggled in the wait for my results so not looking forward to more of that!

I hope everyone here on their cancer journey is doing as well as they can during this rubbish time!!

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and I was diagnosed with melanoma on the back of my left arm 8 years ago now.

The online community is divided into different support groups and I can see that you've already joined and posted in the melanoma group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi Anne, thank you for your message. I hadn't seen the biography section so have just filled that in Slight smile Sorry you've been through so much with your 2 different diagnoses over the years. I hope you are doing ok though

  • Hi

Thanks for asking after me and I'm doing well thanks. I do get a bit nervous waiting for the results of my yearly mammogram every April, but generally I'm just enjoying life and don't think about cancer most days Relaxed
