Hi. My son was given the 'all clear' over 13 years ago. What do you have to moan about I hear you ask? He developed acute avascular necrosis during treatment. Two fused ankles later and severe chronic lower back pain with hefty pain control meds have left him chronically depressed with suicidal tendencies. He is in a stable long term relationship with a baby daughter and, in theory, has everything to live for. Breaks my heart to witness him struggling and to not be able to 'make it all go away'. I'm hoping to find other parents either here or via signposting to a different forum who are in the same boat. Thanks for reading
Hi Jackie H and welcome to our community.
Sorry to hear about your son, chronic pain and depression do often go hand in hand though it is really very hard to see this in one we love.
There are a couple of fora on here that might be able to provide some support, either Parents of children with cancer forum or Family and friends forum and perhaps another choice might be to look at Carers connect
<<hugs>>
