Hello
I was diagnosed with acinic cell carcinoma in the parotid gland 2 weeks ago (confirmed by biopsy) and am currently waiting on results from a chest ct and neck ultrasound. At the ultrasound, the Dr wasn't to happy with how my lymph nodes were looking. I am waiting for an appointment with a specialist at UCLH to make a plan of treatment. I was told it would be surgery, Chemo and radiotherapy.
My head is all over the place and I haven't told my family yet.
Didn't want to spoil their Xmas... but I suppose reality has to hit at some point and I will have to tell them
Hi Minimac
Your head will be all over the place till you get your treatment plan. I does get better after that.
Can I suggest you join the Head and `Neck Cancer Forum Just click on the link I made
There are some members who share the same cancer and most of us there who have been treated for throat cancer have had radiotherapy with or without chemotherapy.
I didn't tell my family (apart from my husband, of course) till I knew what the treatment plan was

I am, thank you. In the early days I never thought I would live let alone be well. The MacMillan group gave me hope and everybody was so supportive.
