Chemo and leg cramps

Hi everyone. My husband has just finished his 4th round of chemo, following radiotherapy for a brain tumour. He was diagnosed 9 years ago, recently the cells started to transform hence the current treatment.
This chemo round, he has been having awful leg cramps. He's on temozolomide, for 5 days every 4 weeks. We will obviously speak to his doctor after Xmas but just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and has any advice or suggestions. A microwave heat pad has helped. Thanks

  • Good Morning

A warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community although I am so sorry to find you here - I am Brian one of the Community Champions here.

Although I am unable to give medical advice and have a very different cancer I see you are going to seek advice after the Christmas break but should you need help earlier here's some advice:-

Accessing support during the festive season

The Community is also divided into Cancer specific groups and I would advise you to join the following groups where you will find Community members on the same or similar journey:

    Brain cancer forum

    Chemotherapy forum

If you click on the link, once the page opens up click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page. Once the page opens up you can either copy and paste or repost your post in the "New Here - Say Hello" section of the group.

I do hope the above helps - if I can do anything else for you please do let me know.

Merry Christmas and Best wishes - Brian.
