Just got back from hospital I have prostate cancer and it is aggressive and spread to bones and lymph nodes. I am devastated and just so scared for my children and grandchildren
I don’t know what to do or say!!
Hi Sj you’re not alone, I was diagnosed last week with stage four stomach cancer was in total shock for a couple of days , people on here have helped me a great deal, you will find from this who true friends are, the main thing is not to give up hope and stay as positive as you can, I’m determined cancer is not going to beat me , if you need to chat at all message me , by helping others we help ourselves, talk soon
Thanks Jon, it is so scary at the moment the thought that I may not here to see my grandchildren grow up is what hurts the most
As you say I need to be strong and fight this and show it I am too strong but at the moment that seems so difficult
so sorry to hear about your diagnosis and I am sure I will chat to you a lot and all the others on here too
Good Afternoon Sj2024
A warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community, although I am so sorry to find you here.
I am Brian one of the Community Champions on the Community - (volunteers) and my advice to you is to say "New to the Community" is a reception area where we direct people to the right part of the Community, for help and advice. I would advise you to join the Prostate group where you will find people on the same or similar journey to you - here's the link:-
Once you have clicked on the link just click on "join" at the bottom of the page. You can than either copy and paste or repost your original post in our "New Here - Say Hello" section. Trust me you will get a warm welcome and plenty of help and advice as I hang around in that group - I am 3 years into my personal Prostate Cancer journey.
If I can do anything else for you please let me know - if not I look forward to "meeting" you again in our supportive group.
Best wishes - Brian.
