Hello dear everyone... I know all our situations and conditions are as unique as we are but the one thing we have in common is breast cancer.  Can I ask if anyone's breast cancer has spread to their throat.  Mines has.  It is attaches to the Vagus Nerve Sheath.  I have lost all pleasure in eating and drinking, it is painful to talk, I can no longer sing.. I find it difficult to come to terms with breast cancer in my throat and the impacted it has on me daily...I could never have foreseen much of the impact of this spread.  So far chemo is not working.  Surgery is not an option because it will cut the main artery between the heart and brain and radiotherapy will do brain damage. I have been on treatments for breast cancer for 6 years.  The original diagnoses was for stage four... it had spread to my lungs and bones I was told at the start... but I have kept really well and just kept moving on but this now having spread to my throat is at another level.  Is there anyone in a similar situation?  Thank you to anyone who has read this far...

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your breast cancer has spread and it must be a very difficult time for you with it impacting on your daily life.

The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the secondary breast cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

To join, just click on the links I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
