I'm new on here and just need to talk, I'm Devastated to find out yesterday that my lovely dad's cancer has spread from his liver to his spine and I'm totally lost. He was due for a procedure on his liver til on Tues Thursday til this news.
To make matters worse I'm a carer for my lovely bed bound mum and what's going to happen to her once he starts treatment because it's hard enough now with my dad here aswell but once the treatment starts, I dread to think.
Hi Steve,
Welcome to our community, I hope you find it useful. I’m also Steve, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community
Sorry to hear about what you as a family are going through, has your mum and dad had a needs assessment see here on the NHS site, at the same time you might like to get a carers assessment - I know caring for my wife how easy it can be to overlook our own needs.
From what you say I guess your dad's cancer started in the Liver and you may already have seen the pages on the main site here, you may also like to look at and possibly join our Liver cancer forum
For you in turn you might also like to look at Family and friends forum and/or Carers only forum where there are people who are coping at all sorts of stages.
<<hugs>>
Steve
