Hi, my mum only has a few months to live as her cancer has spread unfortunately. She has false teeth and they are causing her a lot of discomfort and sores in her mouth. Now, we don’t mind paying for new ones but I know they are expensive and wondered if anyone is aware of any concessions in this situation? Thanks
Hi Ishbell and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read about the discomfort your mum is in and it's natural to see if you can find a way to help her.
The online community is divided into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the supporting someone with incurable cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
You might find this information from Macmillan on benefits and financial support useful to have a look through. You could also give the Support Line a call on 0808 808 0000 and speak to one of the money advisers. They are available Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm.
