Hello there,
I have been diagnosed with breast cancer (stage 3, triple negative) in the past few weeks. I have been having endless tests before chemo starts. I seem to have managed fine emotionally until now, but I think, as I face the start of chemo, and the changes to my life, that it is all beginning to hit me. I have lost my motivation to work (very unusual for me) - maybe because I am not sleeping well. Any advice gratefully received. Thank you
Hi Mouse1971
Welcome to the community and I am sorry to hear that you are been diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative. What you are going through is not unusual as a cancer diagnosis is a shock to the system. While I won't say chemo is easy it is doable and your medical team will do everything they can to make sure you stay well during your treatment and they are only at the end of a phone if you need them for any reason.
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer over four years ago and after having chemo, surgery and radiotherapy I made a full recovery and I'm still cancer free.
There is also a forum for ladies and gents who have breast cancer and one for those who have triple negative breast cancer, though the triple negative one is not as busy as the breast cancer forum and there are plenty of ladies with triple negative on there. Here's the link for both those forums: Breast cancer forum , Triple negative breast cancer forum .
Whatever you do don't google triple negative as the information on there is years out of date. Rely on sites like this one and Breast Cancer Now for your information.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.
Best wishes

Hi Bridgette
Sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer and that you are feeling overwhelmed. What you are feeling is natural as going into the unknown is hard. Once you start chemo you should start to feel better as you are starting the fight back against cancer. As I said to Mouse chemo is doable though I won't say it's easy.
While you are waiting for your chemo try to keep yourself busy and you'll find the time will pass quickly.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment when it starts and if you have any questions before you start don't hesitate to ask, there will always be someone who can answer your questions.
Best wishes
