My daughter

My daughter Michelle was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of cancer. Within less than 4 weeks she had passed away.

Michelle had no common symptoms of cancer and was only admitted to hospital because she had coughed up some blood.

After several tests over 2 days, she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. It was found to be in the liver, kidneys and lungs.

This has shocked us to the core. Michelle was just 43 years old and leaves behind a loving husband and two teenage children.

The family have received tremendous support from the end of life team in the Countess Mountbatten Hospice in Southampton and we can't thank them enough.

We are currently fund raising for the hospice with this being the chosen charity at Michelle's funeral.

I have also registered for the Southampton Half Marathon and aim to raise £250+ in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

It is my way of saying thank you HeartHeartHeart️️ Blush

  • Hi

I'm so sorry to read that your daughter recently passed away quickly from an aggressive form of cancer but it's great that you're currently raising money to support the hospice which supported Michelle.

As the online community is divided into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the bereaved family and friends group which is a great place to give and receive support.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

Wishing you all the best with your half marathon
