Hello all

I am new here!

My name is Anna and am 32 years old. I joined as I keep worrying about my digestive issues.

Bit of background on my health, about 8 years ago I had been diagnosed with Gastrisis (

Had sharp and dull like pains in my upper abdomen that would come and go due to infection caused by H.Pylori. had been prescribed antibiotics and Pylori had gone.

I felt better and quite good for some time until the symptoms returned and still persist until now. I have been tested for pylori and coeliac disease but they came back normal. Had all my blood test etc and all normal. Now an awaiting an appointment at GI clinic.

I having sharp and dull pains in upper abdomen after I've had a meal and they can last even a few days. I get bloated and neausous and lack appetite. Symptoms come and go.

The reason I'm sharing my situation is because I keep worrying about what it might be that's causing me to feel unwell and why do I keep getting flare ups if the bacteria had been eradicated.

Can it be ulcers ? Or something worse ? :(

How different are stomach cancer symptoms from other digestive issues ? Did anyone on this forum got diagnosed with stomach cancer before ?  What were your symptoms?

I know I shouldnt be thinking so negatively but I can't help it. Thank you all so much for your help x

  • Hi Anne  and a very warm welcome to the Macmillan Community but sorry to hear about your ongoing concerns.

Navigating a diagnostic journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but getting support from people who have walked or are walking the ‘exact same' journey can help a lot. (I have a completely different cancer).

This New to Community area is like our reception desk where we look to try and direct you to the best part of the Community for you to get support.

The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms)….    but I do see that you have already joined and put up a post in our supportive Stomach cancer support group.

This group is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support.

The Macmillan Support Line is open between 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00…… this service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support or just a listening ear.

Do get back to me if you need further help navigating the community but au do hope you can get clear answers soon ((hugs))
