Hello, I am new to the group and hoping to get some guidance regarding obtaining travel insurance.
I underwent surgery in August this year (radical nephrectomy) and will have follow up scans etc for the next 10 years. I am now trying to get back into the swing of things so to speak, doing the things I love in life. Holidays are very important to me and I would like to go on a river cruise next June and of course once you mention 'cancer' to insurance companies they seem to think they can charge what they like or not even offer any cover!! Has anyone had any experience obtaining travel insurance and can anyone suggest companies for me to contact.
Many thanks
Hi Caz12 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
Unfortunately, as you've found, it can be more difficult to find reasonably priced travel insurance when a cancer diagnosis is involved so please join us over in the travel insurance forum for cancer patients group.
Once you've joined, have a look through the threads there called 'Recommended Travel Insurance' and Recommended travel insurance 2023-24', which you'll find on the first page. They are full of recommendations from other cancer patients who have got reasonably priced travel insurance.
I do hope you can find some reasonably priced insurance so that you can go ahead with booking your holiday.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
