Hello everyone,

I am 55 and I have recently been diagnosed with Myeloma stage 1, like most of you... I can imagine, it must have been shocking receiving this news.

Is a world I never thought I will be entering in my life, but I'm in it now, and I would like to be part of this family on this forum.

Anything that it can help from you to take me through this new path, and anything I can help with... I am here.

Thanks

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

You are right that being told you have cancer is a tremendous shock and it's natural to want to talk to others who are in a similar position.

The online community is divided into different support groups and I can see that you've already found and joined the myeloma group which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences with others who have a similar diagnosis to you.

When you feel ready, you can start a new post there in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
