Hi , I’m new to this forum, but have been in treatment for intratumoral heterogenous breast cancer ( 2 distinct areas of cancer cells in same tumour one her2 pos the other triple negative) for just over 12 months. I’m on cycle 14 out of 17 of dual herceptin monoclonal antibody targeted treatment. Ive had a mastectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy ( macromet node 1), chemo EC  and doxetaxol and radiotherapy as well as biphosphonates. Despite this I have managed to get back to work as a busy midwife ( 5 days after radiotherapy. I’ve been lucky to not be hospitised at all on this journey ( I left hospital as a day case for my mastectomy 30 mins after coming back from theatre recovery). Going back to work has given me a sense of normality . it’s nice to share experiences with you and I hope I can give and receive support on this forum.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

It sounds like you've been through a lot of treatment and thanks very much for offering to share your experiences.

As the online community is divided into different support forums I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer forum which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences with others who have a similar diagnosis to you.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi thank you so much for your reply. I’m computer literate but not on any social media sites , so navigating this site the 1st time I have posted on the generic forum not the breast cancer community. However I’m happy to share my experience with anyone on this site in a supportive way. I’ll post this again on the breast cancer forum and will update my portfolio as you have suggested xx
