Hi everyone.

I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in September last year (after 8 years of accepting it was IBS), had my resection operation in November, followed by mop up chemotherapy (oxaliplatin and capecitabine).

Three months ago I started having pelvic pain. Had lots of blood tests, and they brought my 6 month check up CT scan forward, which i'm so happy to say is all good.

My GP thinks it could be scar tissue that is causing this, has anyone else experienced this?  I am going to see a gynaecologist next Friday.

Thank you in advance.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

That's great that a recent scan hasn't shown any problems but not so great that you're in pain.

The online community is divided into different support forums and I can see that you've already found and joined the bowel cancer forum which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences with others who have a similar diagnosis to your dad.

When you feel ready to post there, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi there, thanks for the reply, it's not my dad though, it's me, lol.

  • Hi

Sorry about that. Don't know how 'dad' slipped in. Must have been a senile moment, lol.
