Just been diagnosed with cancer of the uterus and been told I only have a year left. My mind is all over the place I don't know what to do and coming to the realisation that I need to sort out my funeral it's just to much.

I don't have children and my family have not been much support. I do voluntary work and they have been supportive and been very good. I'm wondering if any one else is going through the same thing if anyone as some advice or know of any where I can go for support it's much appreciated

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've just been diagnosed with uterine cancer and given a prognosis of a year. It must be very difficult to come to terms with, especially as you say your family have not been much support.

As the online community is divided into different support forums I'm going to recommend that you join the womb cancer forum, which is a great place to ask questions about treatment, etc and share experiences with others who have a similar diagnosis to you, and also the living with incurable cancer forum which is a very supportive place to discuss your emotions, etc with others who also have an incurable diagnosis.

To join, just click on the links I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
