Hi All,

I had a kidney removed 19 yes ago and just about to be discharged when my consultant noticed a red flag in the lung.  Fortunate I suppose as it could have went unnoticed untill symptoms came on.

I'm 52 yrs old with two kids 12 and 9.  Anxious and worried more for them than me.

I have a 3 cm x 2cm cancerous legion on the lh bronchial tube close to the heart.  They cannot operate and I am due to meet an oncologist in a few months...keep thinking why not earlier.

Anyhow just wondering if that size is early stages?  Initial thoughts are I have limited time left.

Sorry to be so downcast but it's how I feel at the minute.

Is there hope?

Thks in advance

Stevie G

  • Sorry mistyped error 10 yrs since my kidney was removed

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

That must have been very disappointing that you were about to be discharged and then it was discovered that your cancer had spread to your lung.

As the online community is divided into different support forums I'm going to recommend that you join the kidney cancer and secondary lung cancer forums as you'll then connect directly with others in a similar situation as yourself.

To join, just click on the links I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
