I was diagnosed last week after my endometrial biopsy came back.I am waiting for a CT and MRI.I am totally terrified because I had a post menopausal bleed in May and went to the GP straight away.I wasn't seen until 13th August and that's only because I got a cancellation. The consultant said she was sorry it was cancer but it's waiting for the scans as I don't know what stage it's at or if it's spread.I'm 69 and absolutely terrified.
Hi Ossi ten and a very warm welcome to the Community but I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis.
Navigating a cancer journey can be such a stressful and challenging time but getting support from people who have walked the ‘exact same' cancer journey can help you a lot. (I have a completely different cancer).
This New to Community area is like our reception desk where we look to try and direct you to the best part of the Community for you to get support.
The Community is actually divided into dedicated Support Groups (Discussion Rooms) so can I recommend that you join and put up your own post in our dedicated Womb Cancer Support Group.
This is a safe place to talk to others with a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support. To connect in with the group please click on the link below…….
……. and when the group page opens you will see a [Black - Click to Join - Banner] at the bottom of the page, click in this box and this will then confirm that you have joined the group.
You can then introduce yourself to the group by putting up your very own post by clicking [+ Create new post]or [+] in the top right of the group page.
You can copy and paste the text from this post into your new post.
The Macmillan Support Line is open between 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00. This service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support, benefits/financial guidance or just a listening ear.
Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing.
Do get back to me if you need further help navigating the community.
Hi,I just read your story and I have so much admiration for you.Not an ounce of self pity when you have gone through so much. You are an optimist where I have always been pessimistic.I was totally shocked when I read your story because how did your body stand so much.I hope you jeep doing well and my thoughts are with you.God Bless and thankyou for sharing
Hi Ossi ten first I see that you have put up a similar post as this one in this area.
Do read through the information I put up on how to connect in with the Womb (uterus) cancer support group.......if you are still having problems navigating the community I can ask the Macmillan Team to help you out.
As for my journey....... we all do what we need to do to keep ahead of the C beast.
Hi again Ossi ten well done joining the group and getting that first post up.
Any time you want to find your groups and posts you have put up just hit YOUR community name and this takes you to YOUR area of the site - All the very very best.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
