i am desperate for some advice if anyone can help. My partner has been diagnosed with HPV after a smear test 4 weeks ago. The strains of HPV mentioned are the most threatening ones.But the medical advice is that there is nothing urgent to treat and she will have another test next year. She is convinced that this will turn into cancer.
She is 63 and we’ve been together for over 2 years.She has reacted very badly and she is blaming me. In the past none of my partners have had abnormal smear test results.
She has backed off completely and is talking about ending our relationship. We have always had great times together and have never had crossed words. I have tried to comfort and reassure her but she will not listen to me. I can sense a lot of resentment. I really think that she’s having some sort of breakdown and I feel helpless.
She is treating me like a leper and it really hurts. Can anyone please help with advice? Thanks.
