Hi all new to this! 33 days since partner given a diagnosis of high grade tcell lymphoma! Unexpected and totally side wiped us both!
To start with the dr didn't say the word cancer and took a while before partner grasped what was being said! Am angry we werent sat together when they told him- he was in examination chair across the room!
still no treatment plan! Still waiting for more appts! No pet scan yet!
am angry, sad, devastated, and feel so alone! Trying hard to keep positive and do normal stuff but inside am screaming & wailing! Crazy eh!
Anyone tell me this gets easier or is it you just get used to it???
Hi Pastyum I will put up a reply to your post in the Lymphoma group ((hugs))
Hi Pastyum
I'm sure a plan will be put in place...drop an email to GP and Oncology for confirmation?
Usually takes a while to sink in, surreal, reality strikes and we find the courage to face up to the fight ahead....frightening and lonely at times.....but forums here and oncology teams are fantastic.
Take care
Peter
Hello,I started at the Doctor on August 1 2023 and they started Treatment October 17 2023.I believe the normal is about three months. If you don’t know yet a dentist exam is needed to make sure all your teeth are healthy
Hi, im new too. Kind of in the same boat, hubby diagnosed with t cell rich b cell diffuse lymphoma, (think thats right, im still new to this) got told yesterday stage 4 spread to his bones/spleen and other lymph nodes. Like you it was a shock, found a lump and it’s spiralled from there. The waiting is a hard part of all this but the consultants get together and make plans for treatment. He will have a pet/ct scan if not already. He’ll have a ton of bloods done and his treatment plan will be decided. I’m new to the forum today so not sure how all this works but reach out if you need to talk.
Hi Kerry222 …… I have put up a reply to your own post you put up a few hours ago,
Hi thankfully it was a dentist that referred him and he has been back to have a couple of fillings sorted! Thank you
So sorry to hear about your hubby, yes such a shock for all! No pet scan planned that we know of! I took time off work to accompany him to appt but apart from 2 referrals to different specialists and one scan nothing yet! Still awaiting a plan! The waiting feels like forever and its 6 weeks since he was told but feels like 6 months!! Hope your hubby gets his treatment started soon , thank you for responding, good to share!
Thank you. Yes the waiting can be unbearable but I hope things start progressing for you. I’d say from first doc appointment to having his first round of chemo (3 weeks ago) was about 2 months. As he had a biopsy then we had to wait for results, pet scans and so forth. Hopefully won’t be too long a wait for you.
