In less than month, I have been diagnosed with Colon cancer that has already spread to other areas and I am facing the start of intensive chemo treatment soon. I am struggling to cope emotionally and feeling bewildered. Any pointers to how to try and get my head into a better space and coping strategies would be welcomed.

I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with colon cancer which has spread and I know how difficult it can be to come to terms with a cancer diagnosis.
As the online community is divided into different support forums I'm going to recommend that you join the bowel cancer forum which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
