Moving home

Hi I'm Tracy, my husband has recently been diagnosed with Metastatic bowel cancer, he has just had his 2nd round of palliative chemo, it hasn't been an easy ride the first round caused a heart spasm which put him in hospital for 8 days so we are now on a different type of chemo, 4 days in and he has terrible diarrhea, I'm about to ring in to the team to see what he can take to stop it.

I'm wondering if anybody on here has moved home during chemo ?

We planned to move before all this came about and would still like to but we want to move to a different county but not sure how smoothly that goes, any input would be greatly received.

I wish all you people on here going through this terrible illness all the very best xxx

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

It sounds like you and your husband are going through a tough time at the moment and I hope the chemo team can suggest something that stops his diarrhoea.

As the online community is divided into different support forums I'm going to recommend that you join the bowel cancer forum which is a great place to ask your question about how doable moving house while having treatment is.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
