Hello
I have just heard that my nephew's estranged father is terminally ill with cancer of unknown primary which had spread everywhere. He refuses to see his son and lives alone. He has no other family at all. He was hospitalized with the cancer then sent home without any fortisip (the only thing he can manage) or carers or nurses. Later he had a fall and his mate who was visiting found him and called the ambulance. He has now been sent home again, apparently still without help or any nutrition drinks. Does anyone know how to arrange for a carer to visit him 3 times a day to help him with self care toileting etc? Or a nurse. Do you have to ask Social Services or the GP, or someone else? His mate might be willing to contact someone to help if he knew where to start. He (the Dad) has a history of being uncooperative and hates hospitals.
Hi Ma78 and sorry to hear about your nephew's estranged father…… I have no experience in this but let’s see if anyone looking n can help but I am rather sure that this would be arranged through the GP or/and Social Services….
