I was diagnosed with stage 1breast cancer 5 years ago, I had a lumpectomy and radiotherapy. For the past four years I have struggled with rib pain and I had a bone scan in 2020 which showed arthritic changed (I’m 52) went to the clinic yesterday and I am tender on both sides of my ribs and the doctor said she wasn’t concerned but wants a bone scan to ensure it isn’t connected to my breast cancer.
mid I had bone cancer and have been experiencing this pain for four years do you think it would be much worse by now, I’m clutching at straws, I’ve got to 5 years and now this.
Any experience would be great, thank you.
Hi PollyPocket71 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
It's always worrying when you have symptoms which can't be immediately explained but it's good that your doctor is being thorough. However, it's natural to worry that this might be connected to your previous breast cancer diagnosis.
As the online community is divided into different support forums I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer forum and the secondary breast cancer forum which are great places to ask questions and share experiences.
