A fall on my hip led to an MRI finding a very large cyst on my left ovaries and after further tests a smaller cyst on my other ovaries to which resulted in a full hysterectomy only to discover the biopsy showed cancer. I had further surgery to remove lymph nodes and the tissue behind the belly button to see if the cancer had spread. Months of living in fear thankfully my results came back clear and the first surgery had taken the cancer away. I'm classed as 1a stage and checked for the next 5 years. I'm really struggling to get my mindset and thoughts from all that has happened so quickly in the last 4 months. Is this normal..... Everyday has just been a lot.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

That's great to read that you've been given the all clear after surgery and I know what a worrying time you'll have gone through.

As the online community is divided into different support forums I'm going to recommend that you join the ovarian cancer forum which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment to into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
