  • Hello   A warm welcome to the online Community.

When I was at my own MDT (Multi Disciplinary Meeting) meeting I was allocated a Macmillan Nurse and indeed she was very helpful and full of information.

As I am unaware of the protocols in Leicestershire may I make the following suggestions:

    * To get a Macmillan nurse you need a referral from either the Doctor or Consultant so you need to have a word with who ever is in charge of Dad's discharge assessment.

    * You give our support line a ring on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm 7 days a week) - They may well be able to offer you some help and support.

    * There is plenty of support on the Community here. It's divided into cancer specific forums or chat rooms. I have shown below the links to the 3 forums you may find of help

Prostate cancer forum  Bladder cancer forum   Lung cancer forum

To join any forum, just click on the links provided. Once the page opens up just click on "join" on the black banner at the bottom of the page. You can then introduce yourself in the "New Here - Say Hello" section.

If I can do anything else for you please let me know.

    Best wishes - Brian.
