Mum's diagnosis

Hi,

My mum has been admitted to the hospital a few weeks ago with extreme bloating of her belly. After a number of scans and tests, it's been confirmed she has cancer. Yesterday the doctor informed her they're unable to find the origin, but they know it's stage 4 cancer and there are signs of it throughout her abdomen.

She's away to start her chemo as soon as they can, but as of now they've given her a max of 18 months. She's not in pain and eating fairly okay, therefore I'm hoping there's a chance that if she responds well to the treatment the life expectancy can increase.

I have just turned 24, away to complete my degree and hopefully start a job within the field. I have 3 younger brothers with the youngest of them being 6 and I find it extremely difficult to stay strong and see the good side of things. I was wondering if anyone has been in the same situation and found a way of coping with so much all at once.

Thank you,

Magda
