Hello I'd like to introduce myself. My son was diagnosed with clear cell carcinoma in March 2022. He's currently receiving immunotherapy treatment and will be for some time yet. I'm currently going through every emotion you could imagine. Fear, anger, anxiety, worry, worry and more worry. I can’t sleep and have very few people to talk to. Just to top it all off my little brother was diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer last week!
My son is currently experiencing numerous side effects with his immunotherapy, mainly feeling, sick tired and feeling the cold terribly.
I'm currently struggling to keep my son warm, and pay the heating bills. Does anybody have any experience with this and can offer me any practical advice?
Hi Lelly mum
Welcome to our community though sorry to hear what you are all going through. The wonder of our community if we find lots of people we can talk to and who "get it". My wife was Leiomyosarcoma and my son was recently diagnosed with what turned out to be a benign tumour on his pituitary gland
You might like to ring the helpline and talk to a benefit advisor to see if you are getting everything to which you are entitled,
Going forward you might also like to join either Carers only forum and/or our Family and friends forum and also Parents of children with cancer forum though even looking at these can help recognize how normal we are as we can see in your feelings when someone has cancer
<<hugs>>
Steve
