Terminal cancer

Been so positive in my battle with cancer even when in Nov, I was given the news there was nothing more could be done.

However, I still get checks and was offered chemo to prolong things. I delayed this as felt well.

Went for CT again today and I feel so anxious and sick. I should be happy I'm still here and I'm going on holiday with my youngest daughter tomorrow. But I can't seem to shake this down feeling.

  • Hi  and although you have posted in the New to Community section I do see that you have posted in some of our cancer groups before.

Do have a great holiday with your youngest daughter.

Navigating the cancer journey can be challenging but talking with others who are on the exact same pathway can help a lot.

You may want to consider joining and posting in our Living with incurable cancer - incurable patients only support group as you will connect with folks who understand the journey and can support you.

Please join the group but for everyone's safety this will then have to be approved by the Macmillan Community Team so will not happen immediately)

You will connect with folks who understand the journey and can support you.

You may find it helpful to call the Macmillan Support Line open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00. This service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support, benefits/financial guidance or just a listening ear.

Talking to people face to face can be very helpful so do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area, do also check for a local Maggie's Centre as these folks are amazing and give support to all the family.

Do get back to me if you need further help navigating the community.

  • Thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to reply.

I'm not great navigating thru any tec stuff.

I actually only went on to send hugs after receiving email but couldn't find how or where to do that.

Found myself having a cry at my stupidity.

Hey ho, just need to carry on.

    Thanks

    Kirsty
