Hi, I was diagnosed in 2017 with Chondrosarcoma of the right leg resulting in above amputation. I do where a very good prosthetic leg which has helped me a lot. Recently on my yearly scan a lesion showed up on my upper lobe, which has resulted in a CT tap and a PET scan. It’s been confirmed it’s a cancer, but not sure what type as it could me a metastasis from my Chondrosarcoma or a new cancer. They can’t biopsy it as it’s to deep so there will be a surgery plan which I’m now meeting with the surgeon/consultants this Thursday 25th. Staying positive is very hard to do,  especially the days where your mind is going around and around trying to work out how this is going to go, I do look at it, that I’ve been here before and coped ok so let’s go again and get back on track.

Good luck to all.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you have recently been diagnosed with cancer again and waiting to find out if it's a new primary or a secondary must be very hard.

The online community is divided into different support forums so I'm going to recommend that you join the bone cancer forum as you'll then connect directly with others who have this type of cancer.

When you know if this new cancer is a primary or secondary you could take a look through this list to join the appropriate forum.

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
