I’m trying to find out some
Information and my personal doctor is not telling me anything. I presume to not cause me to worry but it’s only increased my anxiety levels and I have EUPD and bipolar and anxiety and depression.
After some routine blood tests they called and asked me to get more blood tests done at the hospital and they have referred me to a specialist haematologist while they re take the bloods. The next day the doctor’s office called asking me to attend to see him face to face this morning as they had the results back from the hospital.
I attended for the doctor to say there still extremely high levels so I’ll call the security at the specialist office to get them to get back to us, then they can get a plan in place!! My heart beats faster as I’m asking what his professional opinion is given the results? He defers me and gives no further explanation other than we have to wait for the specialist.
Both my parents died from cancer quickly after being diagnosed my dad was 2’weeks my mum 8 weeks my dads daughter died also from cancer my mums was a rare breast cancer lymphatic breast cancer. My dad’s daughter had breast cancer and my dad had pancreatic cancer.
I’ve above high levels of white blood cells with again above high level platelets And a few more high levels.
I need to just have some idea I’m the person who likes it straight and bad or good I’ll be better having some idea what’s going wrong. I’ve attached the results below I’m not asking for a diagnosis just a clue what the doctor thinks.
Kind regards Sarah
  • Hi Sarah  and a very warm welcome to the Macmillan Community but sorry to hear about your on going health concerns.

I have lived with and been treated for a rare type of blood cancer for over 24 years…… and over all these years I have never had a blood result that said I had a blood cancer.

There are many different reasons for abnormal blood results and not all are cancer related.

You need to allow your doctor to complete all the tests and find out what actually is going on……

If you do find that you have a cancer we can definitely help you further.

The Macmillan Support Line is open 8am-8pm (timings may differ across services) 7 days a week on 0808 808 00 00. This service provides cancer information, practical information, emotional support or just a listening ear.

    Always around to chat.
