Hi I’m new to the group. Diagnosed with vulvar melanoma and had surgery. Surgery successful but doctors want to put me on immunotherapy.
Has anyone else suffered with this skin cancer or immunotherapy?
thanks.
Hi Amil and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with vulva melanoma and it's natural to want to connect with others who have the same.
The online community is divided into different support forums so I'm going to recommend that you join the melanoma forum and also the vulva cancer forum as you'll then connect directly with others who have this cancer and have had immunotherapy.
To join, just click on the links I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any problems negotiating the community just reply to me and I'll be pleased to help if I can.
Hi Belovedpartner and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I see in your reply to Amil that a loved one had immunotherapy but you're not sure what to say. You could describe the experiences they had and for what type of cancer.
The online community is divided into different support forums and I can see that you haven't joined any yet. If you could tell me what brings you to the online community I could point you in the direction of a forum to join for support.
I do regret not care my beloved one well enough.
I am happy with those good days, this makes me feel more depressed gor my guilt as good days no more.
Bad days make me feel hate myself as I was not good. Guilty.
I'm sure you are doing/have done your best to care for your loved one so please don't feel guilty.
As you haven't completed your profile yet, I'm not sure from what you've written, if you're still caring for your loved one or if they have sadly passed away.
If you are their carer then can I recommend that you join the carers only forum as you'll then connect with other carers to discuss your worries.
If your loved one has passed away, I'm very sorry for your loss, and I'm sure you'll get lots of support in the bereaved spouses and partners forum.
Whichever forum is right for you, just click on the link I've created which will take you straight there. Once you've joined, you can then start a new post introducing yourself.
If you have any problems negotiating the online community, just reply to this post and I'll be happy to help.
Treatment I had no comment on as I don’t want to mislead people here.
Thanks
That's fair enough
