Hi, I'm new here & was just diagnosed last Wednesday with Kidney cancer, have to get kidney removed possibly in February, not sure how I'm feeling, glad they know whats wrong but dreading the operation, have read the information given by hospital but would like to hear from anyone who have already been through it, one minute I'm ok next I'm far from ok, not sure if this even makes sense.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll both find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've just been diagnosed with kidney cancer and it's natural to be feeling as you do.

I can see that you've already found and joined the kidney cancer group which I'm sure you'll find is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

When you feel ready to post there you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any problems negotiating the community just reply to me and I'll be pleased to help if I can.
