Hi I am new to the group just over a month ago I was diagnosed with liver and pancreatic cancer and blood clots in both lungs and it's untreatable.I am 61 just turned two days ago .All this started end of Oct after going to the Dr with stomach pain, loss of weight and appetite.Fiest scan showed nodules on the liver two weeks later CT scan showed up the pancreas and blood clots which I was called in by GP who told me everything. It has been one thing after another and I have not yet processed it properly.I have had to give up work which I loved .....live in carer working away alot.Stay with daughter, son and grandson when home.so I don't have my own place or space.Daughter is 37 we are so very close but she has shut herself off from everyone even me.in total denial. At the moment with the support of the palliative nurses trying to get the pain management under control which is trial and error and so many pills. But getting there.Benefits are sorted and so miss my wages from work, having to sort credit cards, loans etc has been overwhelming.Sorted direct cremation out so daughter doesn't have to worry about that. All I want now is to make memories with them but daughter is making me sad I need to talk, cry, scream ,vent etc etc . people say she will come around give her time but that's one thing I don't have.I feel a burden to her as house bound, but I do go over and beyond to help around. She has booked a holiday 16-26th Dec so I am home alone over Christmas but have my grandson.so making memories with him xx so any advice would be gratefully received.merry Xmas to you all

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll both find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with liver and pancreatic cancer and being told that it's untreatable must have been very hard to hear.

The online community is divided into different support forums so I'm going to recommend that you join the liver cancer and pancreatic cancer forums where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support.

Another forum which I think you might benefit from joining is the living with incurable cancer forum as you'll then connect directly with others who may be experiencing the same 'issues' with their children.

To join these forums just click on the links I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any problems negotiating the community just reply to me and I'll be pleased to help if I can.
