Hi im’m new to the site my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer 14 years ago and had radio therapy. Today we were told that it has spread to the surrounding tissues. I just feel so scared of what is to come as no treatment option have been discussed
Hi Lin01332 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll both find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that you've just discovered that your husband's prostate cancer has returned and it's natural to feel scared.
As the online community is divided into different support forums, I'm going to recommend that you join the prostate cancer forum which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined the forum, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any problems negotiating the community just reply to me and I'll be pleased to help if I can.
Hello Lin01332 I have just come across your post and can see you have taken the great advice supplied by my colleague the fantastic latchbrook and joined the Prostate Cancer forum.
My name is Brian and I hang around on the Prostate Cancer forum. we are a great bunch and would be happy to see you over there and help with your husbands issues To enable us to give you the best possible help when you post there can you let us know your husbnd's journey over the last 14 years and how this latest spread has been detected. Can you also let us have if possible from his diagnosis his Gleason score and TNM staging.
There are further treatments and we can help you both along the way with our support.
Thanks and I look forward to meeting you on our forum.
Best wishes - Brian.
