Hi I was diagnosed in the beginning of August with breast cancer, I had the lump and lymph nodes taken out. I start radiotherapy from the 6th of December until the 28th.i have noticed my mood is swinging low a lot at the moment. Does anyone live in the Calder dale area who would like to meet up for a cuppa and chat.
Hi Mary58 and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and that you're feeling low at the moment.
As the online community is divided into different support forums, I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer forum where you'll connect directly with others who have the same type of cancer to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined the forum, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
I know that it would be nice to meet people face-to-face, but as the online community is a public platform, which means that anyone can read the posts whether they're a member or not, the Community Guidelines ask that no meetups are organised within the public groups for your safety and online privacy.
You could put your town or postcode into the In Your Area section of the community to see if there are any support groups set up close to where you live where you could go for a cuppa and a natter.
It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any problems negotiating the community just reply to me and I'll be pleased to help if I can.
((hugs))
