Dear Team,

I just got diagnosed of Cancer and I came across the Macmillian Cancer support group via Instagram.

I would like to join the Breast Cancer group.

I will appreciate your guidance.

Thank you.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that you've just been diagnosed with breast cancer but you've come to the right place to be able to talk to others who will understand what you're going through.

To join the breast cancer group, just click on the link I've created which will take you straight there. Once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and proposed treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any problems navigating the community just let me know and I'll do my best to help.

  • Hi like you I have just found out I have bowel cancer and I am still trying to get my head around it. And have had the scans and now waiting to see the consultant. They said I will need a operation then chemo

  • Hi

I see you’ve already joined the bowel cancer group, so you will be able to ask questions there and get advice from others who have been through this or are recently diagnosed, like yourself. It’s a very supportive and active group and people there will understand exactly how you’re feeling.

Getting a cancer diagnosis is a lot to process, but things usually seem better when you can connect with others, and when you know more details after your appointment with the consultant.

    Sarah xx
