Hello, I'm new to this group and not sure what to say really.

I found out a few days ago my dad has pancreatic cancer, and it's spread to his liver.

He's in the UK with family, I'm in the US. So i can't see him, and it seems calling him is out of the question for now.

I'm lost. Dont know what to do, what i can do for him. Urgh...

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your dad has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which has spread to his liver. It must be a very difficult time for you especially as you're not able to speak to him at the moment.

The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the family and friends group, which is a safe and supportive place to discuss your worries and emotions with others who have a loved one living with cancer.

If you want to discuss your dad's diagnosis and treatment with others who have the same type of cancer then you could also join the pancreatic cancer and also the secondary liver cancer groups.

To join any or all of these groups, just click on the links I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute, it would be great if you could put something about your dad's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
