Hello. 10 days ago my daughter was told she had Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. She has diabetes and at the same time was told she had kidney disease, anemia, lupus and fibromyalgia. Today I had to buy her a wheelchair as she is quite frail. I'm broken but have to be strong for her. My heart  is so heavy and my tummy is in knots.

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the Community although I am always sorry to see folks joining us. I am Mike and I help out around our various Lymphoma groups.

I was diagnosed way back in 1999 at 43 with a rare, incurable but treatable type of Low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma eventually reaching Stage 4a in late 2013 so although my Lymphoma / Blood Cancer ‘type’ is different I do appreciate the challenges of this journey rather well.

I see that you have already joined our dedicated Non-Hodgkin lymphoma support group. This is a safe place to talk to others who may have a similar diagnosis, treatment experience, to ask questions and get support from family members who are navigating the same support journey.

To connect in with a group click on the “Bold Italic Link” I have created above then once the group page opens click on “Click to Join” when the black banner appears or “Join” under “Group Tools” (this all depends on the device you are using)

When you are ready you can put up your own post by clicking “+new” or “+” in the top right next to the group title. You can copy and paste the text from this post into your new post.

I will keep an eye open for you in the NHL group.

EDIT - I just seen that you have put up a post in the NHL group.

  • Hello. Thank you for such a quick response. I'm just feeling so sad right now. My daughter's back story is long and traumatic. She has been moved away to a safe place and we both believed life would get so much better. Now she has been dealt this blow. Today I had to get her a wherlchair and it's all become so real.

  • Good morning  I will pick up our conversation on the post you put up in the NHL group as this will hopefully help you connect with others who have experience of being treated for NHL or family memebrs supporting loved ones on their journey ((hugs))
