Hey, I had breast cancer 8 and a half years ago, it’s now come back in the opposite breast, just had a mastectomy 12 days ago.
im a strong, confident, look on the positive side person, but I’m struggling having nothing to do. Decided to clear my bra drawers out, just had a melt down.
how do you get through this, I have a pretend brave face?
penny
Hello Penny and welcome to MacMillan Cancer forum. A cancer diagnosis can be a shock and I notice this isn't the first time - I am so sorry.
The Community is divided into cancer groups and may I suggest you join Breast cancer forum when you can find members with the same diagnosis. You can join this forum by clicking on the link I have provided. Once the page opens you need to click on "join" at the bottom of the page on the black banner.
You can, once you have joined introduce yourself and add your details to your profile to let other members know how you are doing.
I hope this helps and wish you well, If I can be of any further help, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes - Brian.

I’m not surprised Penny I myself have had an unwelcome return of my cancer ( womb) and there are so many things that cause me to break down. Maybe bras was not the best place to start with a clear out. Maybe something less emotive like kitchen cupboards. I am also struggling to fill my time whilst going through chemo but have found a mixture of reading/ listening to stories, crafting - I’m currently crocheting pumpkins and I’m on number 6, gardening and walking. I hope that you can find things that can help to fill your time
Hello Liquorice31 - I have just read your post and am sorry things are as they are. Life with cancer isn't always great, but for it to come back well - you have my sympathy it must be hard to accept.
I notice you aren't a member of any forums, may I suggest you joining the Womb (uterus) cancer forum . Again you can join by clicking on the link I have provided and when the page opens up just click on "join" at the bottom of the page on the black banner.
We have another forum that may also be of help to you, the Emotional support forum and again to join just follow the links.I hope the above is of some assistance.
If you need any help with the links or anything else, please don't hesitate to get back to me.
Best wishes - Brian.
