I am supporting my mother through endometrial cancer she has it in 3 areas not the bones or lungs but yesterday’s follow up after her mri showed the main tumour had shrunk but 2 new ones were in the vagina. Hysterectomy is not an option because of these new tumours. She has to have hormone therapy and 5 weeks of internal and external radiotherapy What if the radiotherapy doesn’t get rid of the tumours -does it always work? She has been told surgery is not an option following this treatment but the chemotherapy didn’t get all the tumours. Too much to take in yesterday we forgot to ask. Thanks x
Hi Coffeeuntilwine and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that your mum has endometrial cancer which has spread to other areas of her body and I know what a worrying time this must be for you both.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so the best way to connect with others who may be experiencing the same as your mum is to join the womb cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To do this just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
