Hello everyone
I live in the US and I am new here.I was told I had BCC on my nose 7/31/23. Sept 19th a week or so from now I will have it taken off and a graft from behind my ear put on it.I am very scared, more so as the date gets closer lol. They say it is very small, and I am glad for that.I can see this is a very helpful site and am glad to have found it.Looking forward to meeting everyone
Hi Ritaann and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm sorry to read that you need a BCC removing and it's natural to be worried about the operation.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so the best way to connect with others who have had this procedure is to join the skin cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To do this just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'. The only thing you need to bear in mind is that as this is a UK based community, treatment might not be the same here as in the US.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Thank you Latchbrook for the warm welcome.I think i have joined the skin cancer group.I have been reading all the posts and am really glad to have joined
