Hi, I’m Liz, I had my first session last week & have felt the worst in my life ever since. The constant nauseous is making me not want to proceed with further chemo
Hi Lizzyb and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm really sorry to read that you are feeling very unwell after having chemotherapy. I'm assuming you've been in contact with your chemo unit for advice.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so the best way to connect with others who may be experiencing the same as you is to join one of the groups. As you haven't said what type of cancer you have been diagnosed with you can either look through this list to choose the appropriate group for you, or tell me what type of cancer you have and I can then provide you with a direct link to the group.
Once you've joined a group you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Hi Lizzyb
Welcome to the community and I am sorry that you have been diagnosed. Have you been given anti-sickness tablets to take? If you are taking them and as they are obviously not working I suggest you contact your chemo nurse and they be able to get you a prescription for another type of anti-sickness tablet. You could also try taking ginger to see if that will help with the nausea.
When you feel up to it tell us a little bit about yourself and your diagnosis. The online community is made up of different cancer forums so I will send you the link to them and then you can have a look and click on the right forum for you so that you can get support from others who have the same cancer as yourself. Here's the list: Macmillan cancer forums | Macmillan Online Community.
Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of your treatment.
Best wishes
