Lost my mother, and her father to bowel cancer with liver secondaries and my father before they managed to identify the primary tumour.
Now it's trying to have a go at the next generation so I'm arming myself with as much information as I can while adopting a plant based diet (who knows if the Film "Plant Pure Nation" is propaganda or fact?) and remaining open to alternative therapies (e.g. the film "Weed the People")
Cancer might ultimately beat me and members of my family, but we're certainly going to make sure it knows it has been in a fight.
Hi MidlandResearcher and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I'm really sorry to read that you lost both your parents to cancer and you have also been diagnosed.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so the best way to connect with others who have the same type of cancer as you to ask questions, share experiences and get support is to join one of the groups. As you haven't said what type of cancer you have been diagnosed with you can either look through this list to choose the appropriate group for you, or tell me what type of cancer you have and I can then provide you with a direct link to the group.
Once you've joined a group you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
