Hi , my wife has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which has spread to her liver and has just started chemo ( initially delayed by couple of weeks as she has a heart attack day before due to start and had a stent fitted) so one session in she seemed to respond well but at the tail end of the 1st week she had to be admitted to hospital over night for obs as she felt genuinely unwell and couldn't get her blood pressure and blood sugar levels down ( type 2 diabetes) . Is this fairly normal ?

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I'm sorry to read that your wife has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and that she had to be admitted to hospital after her first chemo as she felt unwell.

The online community is divided up into different support groups, so I'm going to recommend that you join the pancreatic cancer group, which is a great place to ask your question, share experiences and get support

To join, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here, and join in with existing conversations by clicking on reply.

It would be great if you could pop something about your wife's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'.
