Hi There
I may have come to the wrong page but anyway I will continue.
I have already been given some great advice on here so far in the last couple of weeks. In short my ex partner who is the mother of our two children passed away three weeks at the age of 51 due to lung cancer. It has been the most horrific experience me and our children have had to indure in the last three years.
Though we separated 9 years ago my children’s mother and I have always worked hard to give a supportive and loving guidance to our 17 year old daughter and 21 year old son.
Due to their mothers passing I will be solely taking care of our children who are both studying: I do work full time and have a slightly above average salary. But given the rise in the general cost of living and my large mortgage I am concerned with the financial strain this is going to have on me. I don’t expect that anything can be done due to the fact that I am working full time..But I simply just wanted to ask a question whether I am entitled to any financial help whatsoever with my two young people who will be living with me very soon.Any advice will be most welcome.
Kind Regards
Jim
Hello Jim C
I am very sorry to hear that your ex partner and mother of your children passed away from the cancer. It must have been a difficult time for you all. Please be assured that we are here to support you all where we can.
I recommend that you give the Support Line a call and speak to one of the financial advisors.
I contacted them when I was diagnosed and they were really helpful. They went through my income and outgoings and were able to give me the figures of what I could claim and where from. I followed up their advice and it was spot on and made a huge difference. They really are experts and if there is something that you are entitled to- they will know.
Jane
